What does this program do?
Placer is a text search and replace tool with some unique features:
- Search and replace text inside documents and folders.
- Find and replace text in document names and folder names.
- Undo changes.
- Save your search results.
- Automate changes in subfolders.
- Search multiple places at the same time.
- Drag-and-drop documents and folders.
- Open copy, rename or view document and folder details.

How do I choose a place to search?
Drag and drop a folder or document onto Placer's
surface or press the 'Open' button.

How do I search subfolders?
When a place to search is chosen, if it is a folder, you will see a checkbox for
it in the Subfolders column. Leaving the check-box selected will cause the
search to recurse the folder and it's subfolders.

How do I Find Text in Documents and Document and Folder-Names?
To find text, enter the text into the search text-box, choose at least 1 place to
search, and then press the green search
button. This will start a search. To stop the search, press the button again.

Replace Text in Documents and Document and
Folder-Names
Press the 'Change' button: An extra text box appears with a yellow replace
button.
Enter the replacement-text into the additional box and press the
yellow replace button. This will start a replace. To stop the replace, press the
button again.
Make sure to uncheck the 'Subfolders' check-box of places with subfolders that
you do not want to search.

How do I enable undo?
To enable Undo, press the Tools button and choose 'Enable Undo' in the Settings
window.

How can I undo changes made by a replace?
Undo a replace by pressing the Undo button on the left of the replace box. This
will only work if the 'Enable Undo' option was chosen on the Settings window and
there were no changes to the affected content after the replace. there were no changes to the affected content after the
search.
The success of an undo depends on the
level of access granted to the places and any changes to the affected
content after the replace. Use the undo button causiously and always make your
own backups when neccessary.

How can I view, print or save the search results?
To view results for a selected place, press the Results Button, just above the
search results.
Save the search results of all places to search by choosing the 'Save All
Results' option from the Save split-button.
You can save the selected place's search results from your Web browser after
pressing the result button.
